Hovhannes Grigoryan was born in 1945 in Gyumri. He started writing quite early and was first published during his childhood years. He authored the following books: \u201cSongs without melody\u201d(1975), \u201cQuite Another Autumn\u201d(1979), \u201cRain in a sad occasion\u201d(1982), \u201cUnhurried Hours\u201d(1986), \u201cAngels from childhood sky\u201d(1992), \u201cHalf time\u201d(2002), \u201cEquinox\u201d(2006), \u201cNever Die \u2013 This is What I Have to Say\u201d(2011).
\nHe published his first fiction (\u201cMaestro\u201d) in 2004. The collection of his essays and articles (\u201cThe day of open doors in the Mher\u2019s cave\u201d) was published in 2008. He translated several works from Spanish, namely: \u201cThe Death of Artemio Cruz\u201d by Carlos Fuentes (1979), \u00abThe Winners\u00bb by Julio Cort\u00e1zar (1983), \u00abPhilosophy of Culture\u00bb by Jose Ortega-Y-Gasset (1999), \u00abLa Celestina\u00bb by Fernando de Rojas (2007).<\/p>\n
Hovhannes Grigoryan\u2019s poetry has been translated into several languages. His poems were published as separated books in Russia (, 1985), in France (, 2007), in Iran (\u201cQuite Another Autumn\u201d, 2009).<\/p>\n
He is a laureate of several prizes. In 1998 he has awarded a RA State Prize of Movses Khorenatsi’s medal. In 2011 he received AR state prize in the sphere of literature and publicist for his book \u201cNever Die \u2013 This is What I Have to Say\u201d.<\/p>\n
